Reviewed Regenerative Urban Design Literature & Collected Company Survey for Mixed-Method Analysis

Source data for mixed-method study on Regenerative Urban Design across Academia and Practice. See publication for more details. First dataset: Publication Details, Definitions, Principles, Barriers, Resolutions of 68 peer-reviewed journal articles included in systematic literature review. Studies are listed alphabetically by first author and include full bibliographic details and coded segments used for analysis. Second dataset: Responses of 113 practitioners from international architecture, landscape and urban design firm. Anonymized data, including likert scale and open-ended questions on conceptual understanding, barriers and evaluation suggestions. Data collected in quartile one of 2025. Study context: Systematic literature review, practitioner survey, and expert interviews were conducted concurrently with a triangulation aim to help contextualize, explain and nuance observed patterns for the formulation of meta-inferences and integrated findings. From each method and separately collected data, emergent themes and their prominence on conceptual understanding of the definition, principles, barriers and suggested resolutions to the operationalization of regenerative urban design were analyzed. This enabled distinct insights into academic literature discourse, current practitioner knowledge, and expert perspectives, but especially their convergences and divergences through comparative assessment and synthesis of results, as focus of the study. This strategy facilitated the triangulation of methods and collected data.
