资源简介:
This thesis investigated the effects of standard Scoliosis-specific exercise (SSE) on muscle activity and scoliosis progression in patients with mild to moderate adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). In addition, we modified the SSE protocol and demonstrated its utility in improving preoperative spinal flexibility with severe scoliosis. SSE shows promising effects in reversing muscle asymmetrical and decelerating curve progression in mild to moderate scoliosis. Moreover, in-patient SSE increases the spinal flexibility of rigid curves, thereby enhancing intraoperative curve correction. These results support the incorporation of SSE into a comprehensive clinical pathway for AIS management, from early intervention to surgical preparation. This study provides Class II evidence that SSE modifies scoliosis progression through neuromuscular rebalancing while offering a safe, cost-effective adjunct to surgical care.
