Dataset from an Archaeological Landscape Assessment at The Weir Estate, Swainshill, Heredfordshire, November-December 2022

This collection comprises digital data from an archaeological landscape assessment at the Weir Estate, Swainshill, Herefordshire. This work was undertaken by the Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust between November and December 2022. Amongst a range of possible archaeological assets, the survey identified two features considered to have high archaeological potential. One is a platform situated adjacent to the route of the Roman road that is in part linked to terraces identified in the Historic Environment Record as having possible Roman or prehistoric origins. The other is the potential remains of a mill building associated with the mill pond and 'Mill Orchard' field name located to the east of the Weir Farm. It is therefore recommended that further investigations be carried out prior to any intrusive activities undertaken within the site.
