This dataset contains the processed data underlying all main findings and figures in the research article "The Compactness Paradox: How Dense Cities Mitigate Underground Space Flooding." The data support the investigation of urban compactness effects on subsurface flooding in coastal megacities, using Shanghai as a case study. The package includes: Urban Compactness Index (UCI) spatial distributions and their relationship with surface roughness Comparative analysis of underground flood volumes between compact and dispersed urban areas Regression data linking UCI values with peak underground flooding Future risk projections under combined climate change and urban development scenarios All data are provided in machine-readable CSV format with detailed documentation. These data enable full reproducibility of the study's key results and facilitate further research on urban flood resilience.
