This dataset conducts statistical analysis on the sales performance of dehumidifiers of various models in Zhejiang Province, taking each month as the time benchmark for analysis. The demand elasticity of each dehumidifier model is calculated based on the product demand volume and average unit price of each model per month. Cross-sectional analysis of the demand status of different dehumidifier models is carried out according to the monthly demand elasticity of each model, providing data support for enterprises engaged in dehumidifier production and sales to conduct more targeted market demand analysis, adjust production plans, formulate marketing strategies, and select key promoted products. Longitudinal analysis of the change trend of demand elasticity of the same model of dehumidifier is also conducted to improve the sensitivity of enterprises' market observation and predict the market demand trend of this model in advance.
1. Classify and count the sales status of dehumidifiers in Zhejiang Province by model and month. The order quantity refers to the number of units of this model of dehumidifier ordered in this order, and the product price refers to the price of each unit of this model of dehumidifier in this order.
2. The product demand volume is the total sales volume of this model of dehumidifier in the current month calculated by the SUM function. The average unit price is the arithmetic mean of the product prices of this model of dehumidifier in the current month. The demand elasticity formula is Ed = - (ΔQ/Q) ÷ (ΔP/P), where Q represents the product demand volume of this model, P represents the average unit price of this model, ΔQ represents the year-on-year change value of the product demand volume of this model, and ΔP represents the year-on-year change value of the average unit price of this model. The absolute value |Ed| of the demand elasticity is taken as the reference coefficient.
3. Data analysis: The price elasticity of demand of the product can be analyzed based on the value of |Ed|:
- |Ed| = 1 (unit price elasticity of demand), indicating that the magnitude of change in demand is the same as that in price;
- 1 < |Ed| < ∞ (demand is price elastic), indicating that the magnitude of change in demand is greater than that in price;
- 0 < |Ed| < 1 (demand is price inelastic), indicating that the magnitude of change in demand is less than that in price;
- |Ed| → 0 (perfectly price inelastic demand), indicating that the demand volume remains unchanged regardless of price changes;
- |Ed| → ∞ (perfectly price elastic demand), indicating that the demand volume can change arbitrarily at a given price.
