Sections 142-45 of the Act dealt with the issuing of orders for maintenance to relatives of a patient who had insufficient assets to meet the cost of his own maintenance. The volume includes the following details: name of patient, name of defendant (usually a relative), result of application to magistrates (including date of order and rate payable per week) and remarks.
