This dataset is constructed by collecting monthly analytical data of water quality microbial indicators from the internal laboratories of water treatment plants. It enables the judgment and analysis of the actual fecal pollution status, severity level, and pollution freshness of raw water, helping water treatment plants precisely regulate disinfection processes, quickly trace pollution sources, and release dynamic early warnings of microbial risks through technical means. Meanwhile, water users can assess water quality based on the monthly microbial indicator analysis data, and select appropriate water usage methods on their own to meet their production or daily water demand. The algorithm rules for processing the monthly water quality microbial indicator analysis data from the internal laboratories of water treatment plants include the following steps: 1. Data Collection: Collect daily raw water microbial indicator data from the water plant's internal laboratory in the current month, specifically the daily total bacterial count, total coliforms, thermotolerant coliforms, and Escherichia coli (E. coli) of the raw water in that month. 2. Data Processing: Calculate the Fecal Pollution Intensity Index (FPI) from the collected data, with the calculation formula: FPI = log₁₀(E. coli count + 1) × (thermotolerant coliform count / total coliform count). 3. Data Statistics: Conduct statistical analysis of the raw water pollution status of the current month based on the daily Fecal Pollution Intensity Index (FPI) data. 4. Data Application: Judge and analyze the actual fecal pollution status, severity level, and pollution freshness of raw water based on the monthly water quality microbial indicator analysis data, to help water treatment plants precisely regulate disinfection processes, quickly trace pollution sources, release dynamic early warnings of microbial risks, and further enable water users to effectively treat the water they utilize.
