Cogan Syndrome Development in post-COVID-19 Patients: A Scoping Review Protocol
收藏资源简介:
Cogan syndrome (CS) is a systemic auto-inflammatory disease affecting both large and small vessels. It is characterized by ocular inflammation, vestibulocochlear impairment, and systemic vasculopathy. Though the exact pathological mechanisms remain unclear, some case-reports underline a post-infectious etiology. Endothelial and vascular inflammation are notoriously consequent to Sars-CoV-2 infection, which is also known to have altered the onset of many autoimmune conditions. There are actually only few confirmed cases regarding CS development after COVID-19, in the so-called post-COVID period. The aim of the current Scoping Review is to establish a systematic search of the main articles, reviews and case reports to collect as many studies as possible to provide the conceptual basis for a link between Sars-CoV-2 infection and the development of Cogan Syndrome.
