Gross loss ratio for motor insurance in Spain 2005-2023

Between 2011 and 2014, the accident rate in motor vehicle insurance plateaued at around 77 percent. Afterward, the gross loss ratio of motor insurance in Spain dropped sharply in 2020, but recovered to 2016 levels by 2022. In 2023, it peaked at 80.2 percent, the highest number recorded during the time period under observation.
