Bacillus asahii comes to the fore in organic manure fertilized alkaline soils and played a key role in the increase of both crop yield and soil fertility, especially via accelerating carbon and phosphorus cycling. However, little is known about its genetic molecular information though some papers reported that B. asahii was related with deodorizing the bad smell, kraft lignin degradation, hydrocarbon bioremediation, antagonistic downy mildew from cucumber and so on. So through the isolated strain OM18 complete genome sequencing and gene predicted analysis, we could know how it worked to promote plant-growth in the alkaline soils. Meanwhile it is hoped that the strain OM18 should be applied in both sustainable agriculture and environmental remediation.
