Renal medulla undergoes exposure to high osmolality which might result in severe impairment to cellular homeostasis. Systematically evaluate the gene expression pattern during hypertonicity will shed more light on how cells adapt to the hypertonic stress. In this study, mouse inner medullary collecting duct cells (mIMCD3) were cultivated under 300 mOsmol/kg and 550 mOsmol/kg for 6 h, respectively, and then were subjected to mRNA transcriptome and small RNA transcriptome analysis.
