Intergenomic Interactions in Willow Species

This study aims to explore the intergenomic interactions between chloroplast and mitochondrial genomes in Salix species, specifically focusing on three closely related species: Salix babylonica, Salix pierotii, and Salix pseudolasiogyne. By sequencing and assembling the genomes from both male and female individuals, the research seeks to investigate genetic variation, potential hybridization events, and the role of intergenomic gene transfer in the genus Salix.
