European rail traffic in key countries 2019

Germany recorded the most rail traffic in Europe in 2019, at over 1.1 billion train-kilometers. This amount represented just under a quarter of the total European traffic in 2019. Germany’s rail traffic volume was followed by that of the United Kingdom: some 594 million trains per kilometer of rail.
