<b>Effects of monensin supplementation on rumen fermentation, methane emissions, nitrogen balance, and metabolic responses of dairy cows: a systematic review and dose–response meta-analysis</b>

The aim of this study was to evaluate the dose-response relationship between monensin supplementation and metabolic responses in dairy cows using a meta-analysis in a comprehensive review. The data and information used in this review were primarily from peer-reviewed literature published between 2001 and 2022. Based on the analysis of all variables evaluated, the optimal dose of monensin was estimated to be 24 mg/kg.
