Sediment Cores in Narragansett Bay, RI and Associated Microplastics

This data was used for the publication "Exponentially Increasing Microplastic Accumulation in an Urban Estuary: Insights from the Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island Seafloor". Grainsize.xlsx: This dataset shows grain size percents for each seafloor core. LOD_LOQ_Blanks: this dataset contains the microplastic contamination data from all procedural blanks, which were used to calculate limits of detection and limits of quantification. particle_colors: this dataset lists the colors of counted microplastic particles extracted from sediment particle_type_counts: this dataset lists the number of each microplastic particle type (bead, fiber, film, foam, fragment) found in each sediment sample. polymer_concentrations: this datasets lists the concentrations of each anthropogenic particle type found in all samples sedimentationrates: this dataset contains sediment accumulation rates calculated for each sediment core site sedrate_MPconc_MPAR: this dataset contains, for each site and sediment depth, the sediment mass accumulation rate, year derived from the sediment accumulation rate and age model, microplastic concentration, and microplastic accumulation rates
