Transcriptional modulation of murine skeletal muscle by acute Trypanosoma cruzi infection

During acute Trypanosoma cruzi infection, several target tissues like skeletal muscle are damaged by parasite invasion and immune response. Sustained over time, these events may lead to specific clinical alterations but only in some individuals, typical in Chagas disease. A deep characterization of the phenomena occurring during the acute phase becomes critical to understand the different outcomes at later stages.
