Bioremediation of cytostatic pharmaceutical and personal care products and emerging technologies

The increased use of various PPCPs has resulted in the accumulation of these chemicals in environ
mental media such as air, water, and soil. Many of the chemicals listed as active ingredients in the
majority of PPCPs are toxic and have the potential to bioaccumulate. As a result, strict regulation
on the use of such compounds should be implemented to ensure a sustainable future. Because of
the risks posed by PPCPs to human health and other living organisms, it is critical to limit their use
and develop methods for removing them from the environment.
