TAS Strengthening in the Philippines: Strengthening the TAS Study in Mindoro Oriental, Philippines

This study complements other TAS strengthening studies in the Gates OR pipeline and is based on the same protocol. Sites where TAS strengthening projects are being carried out will present excellent opportunities for district level IDA studies because of the baseline data that we have already conducted. The study would also address compliance. The results of this OR will help the program to identify eventual hotspots of transmission amenable to enhanced MDA or alternative MDA strategy including the triple drug MDA. Supporting this OR will complement studies in Tanzania, American Samoa, and Haiti already approved by donors and implemented. The results of this study are also expected to inform WHO recommendations regarding strengthening of the TAS platform.
