Ignatiana: A Research Apparatus for Ignatian Spirituality
收藏资源简介:
A research apparatus for Ignatian spirituality, confined to the old Society (1540–1773) and organised in five lines: the founder's own writings (the Spiritual Exercises in a trilingual public-domain parallel edition — Spanish Autograph, Vulgata of 1548, Mullan 1914 — and the letters of 1524–1547 in full), with the founding bull Regimini militantis Ecclesiae of 1540 carried complete, bilingual, with the Formula of the Institute — the corpus opens and closes with the two papal documents that made and unmade the old Society; the school of discernment, carried to its end — the Official Directory of 1599 and Favre's Memoriale (both bilingual), Nadal's In Examen annotationes, Rodríguez's Of Conformity to the Will of God complete, the Abandonment to Divine Providence attributed to Caussade, carried whole with the attribution stated as debated, and, beneath the school, its doctrine of the soul — the Ratio Studiorum of 1599, the Prooemium of the Coimbra De anima commentary, and three chapters of Suárez's De anima commentary, all bilingual; the Society in the world, likewise carried to its end (Xavier, Acosta in Grimston's English of 1604, Ricci/Trigault in Purchas's digest of 1625, the Jesuit Relations in Thwaites's translation, and the Imago primi saeculi with its Dutch mirror); the conscience of the Society — Friedrich Spee (Cautio Criminalis and Trutznachtigall), the limpieza de sangre dossier (the decree De genere of 1593 with its recorded intercessions, Ribadeneira's memorial against it complete in all thirteen razones, and the mitigation of 1608, bilingual), and Molina's examination of the slave trade (De iustitia et iure, disp. 34–35, eye-transcribed from the Venice printing of 1594, bilingual — with the Society's own slaveholding stated as failure beside the voice); and the counter-voices, from the Monita secreta and Pascal to the brief of 1773 carried complete. The first program is editorially complete; a second, cultural program — the Reductions of Paraguay, Kircher's Musurgia, Pozzo's Perspectiva, the Jesuit stage — has opened, and its three named modules have shipped: the Reductions of Paraguay (five chapters of Muratori's Relation in the London English of 1759, with four bilingual passages of Montoya's Conquista espiritual), Kircher's Musurgia universalis of 1650 (the Synopsis of the ten books, the voices of the birds with Iconismus III carried as a page image, and the doctrine of the affects of Book VII, bilingual), and Pozzo's Perspectiva in the bilingual London printing of 1707 (the preface that draws every line to the glory of God, the first lesson of the method, and the Sant'Ignazio dossier with the plates of the Holy Week apparatus and the feigned cupola, approved by Wren, Vanbrugh and Hawksmoor); with Bidermann's Cenodoxus (from the Munich Ludi theatrales of 1666) the second, cultural program is complete, and a sixth reading path, the Society as culture, binds it. With a canonical paragraph-level citation index, a cross-corpus concordance over the whole apparatus, a concept atlas, curated reading paths, a discernment lexicon, registers of persons and places, and a citation-bound dialogue with the corpus. Four modern translations (Ganss, Padberg, Divarkar, Munitiz) remain in copyright: their structure, statistics and citation anchors are part of the apparatus, but no text of them is distributed — a reader opens them from a copy they own, on their own device.
