By collecting data on purification methods for laboratory chemicals and related physical and chemical properties data from the manual books, then the collected data was classified, summarized and standardized. For quality control, we developed collection specifications and methods for data sampling and backtracking, which, coupled with algorithm programs, ensured the accuracy of the key data items. The dataset contains 5,747 records that fall into two subsets: one for purification method data and the other for physical and chemical properties data. The establishment of the dataset of purification methods for laboratory chemicals can provide useful help for the chemical and biochemical experimental researchers.
