This dataset comprises a corpus of historical topographic maps, intended to assess the efficacy of the mapKurator method in generating metadata from scanned map imagery. It includes various processed historical map images, targeting text extraction and the generation of metadata linked to external geospatial knowledge bases. These maps cover diverse styles and spatial scopes across a 125-year timespan. The core task is to generate associated geospatial metadata from these historical map images.
