The tree is situated in the Safawi region of Jordan, approximately 110 kilometres east of the capital, Amman.It is also referred to as the Prophet's Tree.As per the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, it is classified as an intangible cultural heritage of Jordan.According to the Bedouin and other local inhabitants, it is said that during one of his journeys in the Levant, the Prophet Muhammad, may God grant him peace and favours, sought refuge beneath it.Numerous individuals visit the tree annually to honour the Prophet Muhammad and to beseech it for blessings by suspending sections of green cloth from it, although this has not been proven.
