Hydrologic modeling of the Baltimore region

We applied a coupled hydrologic model (ParFlow) to the Baltimore metropolitan area to examine the impacts of urban development. The urban features we studied include reduced vegetative cover, impervious surface cover, infiltration and inflow (I&I) of groundwater and stormwater into wastewater pipes, and other anthropogenic recharge and discharge fluxes including water supply pipe leakage and well and reservoir withdrawals. We compared the base case (all four features) to simulations in which an individual urban feature was removed. We have included the input files to these sets of simulations, final model output (31 December 2007), and the model source code that was used.
