The purpose of this study is to screen the optimal model that can be used for the prevention and treatment of chicken gland and muscular gastritis syndrome by comparing several different methods. The animal models were evaluated in terms of clinical features, pathology, serology and intestinal flora to assess the best way to construct the chicken model of gland and muscular gastritis. The SPF chickens in each model group showed the typical symptoms of gland and muscular gastritis, such as poor spirit, Earthy yellow with loose stools from undigested feed and enlargement and ulceration of the glandular and muscular stomach. After 16s rDNA sequencing, it was found that Bacteroides, Faecalibacterium, and Ruminococcaceae UCG-014 increased after modeling, while Megamonas and Lactobacillus significantly decreased after modeling compared with the contral group. These floras are predicted to be related to arachidonic acid metabolism, NF-kB signaling pathway and TNF signaling pathways. Polyethylene glycol combined with rhubarb was the best modeling method for the gland and muscular gastritis SPF chicken model. The constructed chicken model showed obvious inflammatory response and intestinal flora disturbance, which can provide a basis for subsequent research on the prevention and treatment of this syndrome.
