Sequential Escherichia coli isolates and Enterococcus faecalis from a >10 year chronic tissue/bone infection from a patient

A patient suffered from a chronic tissue/bone infection for > 10 years with Escherichia coli as the causative agent and Enterococcus faecalis co-colonizing. This study will analyse the strain turnover and strain adaptation to the chronic infection. Phenotypes of the bacterial isolates during chronic infection with be correlated with the genotypes.
