LGRB-BW INSPIRE LED: historical epicenters (Natural Risk Zone: Observed Events) – Dataset

The historical earthquake catalogue edited by the Land Earthquake Service contains information on earthquakes in and around Baden-Württemberg: from the year 1000 to 1899 all known earthquakes in the catalogue and for the years 1900 to 1993 the events that reached at least a magnitude of 3 or an intensity of IV.All events are located in the region 47.3°N to 50.0°N and 7.2°E to 10.75°E, and can be identified with a certain probability as an earthquake. Explosions and other events such as rock falls etc. are not included. In the pre-instrumental age, the information comes from reports and reports from countless sources. Not noticeable earthquakes are therefore not included per se. A large number of other compilations (catalogues) were used in the creation of the catalogue. The corresponding authorship or responsible agency is listed in each case.
