Efficacy of Neural mobilzation and Maitland Accessory Mobilization in patients with Tennis Elbow- Pre test post test experimental design

Background- tennis elbow is the most common lesion affecting forearm causing problem in functional movements like holding, gripping, grasping. this lesion has affected more women than men with incidence rate of 4-7% in general population.
Objective- the objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of neural mobilization and Maitland mobilization in patients suffering from tennis elbow.
Methods- there were 25 paticipants in the study with the pain in their dominant arm allocated to three different groups ( group A- Maitland Mobilization,group B - Neural Mobilization and group C - conventional treatment). the participants were assessed and then data was collected at baseline and after 4 weeks for pain by VAS, grip strength by Hand Held Dynamometer and ROM of elbow (flexion and extension), forearm supination and pronation and wrist (flexion and extension) by Goniometer and quality of life by PRTEE (Patient Rated Tennis Elbow Evaluation). then treatment was given for 4 weeks ( 3 times a week).
Results- results were anlysed by non parameteric tests (Krushkal Wallis test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test). The level of significance was set as p<0.05. there was significant difference in between group comparison of pain scores, and quality of life..
Conclusion- there were changes in pain, grip strength, elbow ROM and quality of life in all the three groups. supination, pronation and wrist flexion was improved in group B only and wrist extension in group C only was improved.
