Lodgepole pine mapping population

The primary goal of the study is to create a linkage map for lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta). The study mapping population consists of a set of related individuals from an outcross between two parental trees which originated from interior B.C., Canada. Marker data is derived from the haploid megagametophyte tissue extracted from seeds produced by a single cross. The linkage map constructed from this project is used to aid in the study of evolution and genetics of P. contorta and related conifer species.
