Smart road: Traffic noise

As part of the Smart Road project, the Office for Environment and Energy (AUE) is testing an acoustic sensor for functionality, accuracy and reliability. The noise sensor detects ambient noise and uses artificial intelligence to detect the individual noise profiles of different vehicles. As a result, the sensor can be used to perform direction-separated traffic counts in real time, and to detect the impact of noise and the speed of individual road users. The values in the column “Average level” from 16.2.2022 at 06:55 am describe the A-rated equivalent continuous sound level (Leq).
