<br>Notes on the data:<br>--------------------------<br><br># GEVE_contigs:<br>---------------<br>This folder contains fasta nucelotide files (contigs) for each of the giant endogenous virus elements (GEVE) curated from the respective green algal genomes.<br><br><br># GEVE_proteins:<br>----------------<br>This folder contains fasta protein files (translated from Prodigal predicted ORFs) for each of the GEVEs.<br><br># Core_genes_raw_file<br>---------------------<br>This folder contains curated core genes from the GEVEs and reference sequences (See supplementary methods for details), without alignment. Core genes curated from the GEVEs have names that refer to the contigs they originated from. Reference sequences have NCBI accession numbers as ID.<br><br># Core_genes_alignments<br>-------------------<br>This folder contains the aligned version of the files in "Core_genes_raw_file" folder that were used for building the phylogenetic trees.<br><br>#Core_gene_HMM<br>---------------<br>This folder contain HMM profiles of 9 NCLDV core genes (plus the Major Capsid Protein) created from reference sequences.
