资源简介:
This is a collection of microplankton species abundances that was collected during 2012 at Ría de Vigo.

These datasets of species were collected during a campaign of nine cruises to a central station of Ría de Vigo (42º14.09’ N, 8º47.18’ W, Galicia, NW Peninsula Ibérica). Sampling procedure is fully explained in "P. Cermeño et al. (2014) Sampling the limits of species richness in marine phytoplankton communities. J. Plankton Res. (2014) 36 (4): 1135-1139. doi: 10.1093/plankt/fbu033.

All data is available in an ODS file (which is the Open Document format standard) and in a XLS file (Microsoft's proprietary binary file format). RData file allows the previous data to be directly imported to any R working environment.

In the spreadsheets, "Metadata" tab indicates the sampling cruises name, date and shows information about the sampling technique used (bottles or nets), Chl-a concentration and volume sedimented for each sub-sample.

"List of species" tab list the full collection of species observed. There, an identification value ("ID") indicates which column name each of the species were given in the following tabs.

The remaining tabs, named by date, contain the species abundance and presence/absence of species at each sub-sample. Diatoms and dinoflagellates of the microplankton size fraction were counted and identified at taxonomical level for bottle samples. Net samples were used for discovering new species that hadn't been observed in bottle samples yet. Which rows contain abundance or presence/absence information can be seen in the Metadata tab. While bottle means abundance, net indicates presence/absence.
