Survey on Awareness and Perceptions of Biodiversity and Nature-Based Solutions in Higher Education, TVET, Professional Circles, and Society at Large

This dataset was generated through a consortium-wide online survey conducted under Task 1.2 of the eNaBlS project. The survey assessed awareness, perceptions, concerns, and expectations regarding biodiversity loss and Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) among higher education (HE), vocational training (TVET), professional sectors, and the general public across the EU and beyond. Led by the University of Hohenheim (UHOH), the survey was available in all EU languages plus Arabic, Turkish, and Ukrainian. It ran on the European Commission’s EUSurvey platform from 5 June to 31 August 2024, gathering 1,084 valid responses. Strict ethical safeguards were applied, including anonymity, informed consent, and compliance with EU data protection regulations. The dataset has been cleaned and processed for both quantitative and qualitative analysis and serves as a baseline for the design of the eNaBlS Living Labs, while also providing a valuable resource for research, policy, and education on biodiversity and climate resilience.
