Disruption of jejunal and ileal homeostasis by malnutrition in systemic jejunal and ileal microbiota-host interactions in a pregnant sheep model

In this study, a model of malnutrition was created by restricting the feeding level of eight late-pregnant multiparous ewes to 30%, while eight control ewes were fed normally. All ewes were subsequently sacrificed, and jejunal and ileal samples were collected for 16s RNA gene sequencing to investigate microbial changes.
