Segmented micro-CT images for Adedipe et al., 2026 (Impact of Mineral Spatial Distribution on CO2 Dissolution Rates in Multimineral Carbonate Rocks)
收藏资源简介:
The datasets contain 20 time-resolved segmented X-ray micro-computed tomographic (micro-CT) images showing mineral dissolution of carbonate rock samples containing calcite, dolomite and anhydrite via CO2 acidified brine fluid flow at reservoir conditions. The micro-CT images were acquired at a voxel-resolution of 5.2 µm and time-resolution of 33 minutes. The data were collected with lab based micro-CT, with an aim of investigating the influences of rock mineralogy, physical and chemical heterogeneity on dissolution patterns and changes to dynamic rock properties at the pore-scale. Further details of the experimental methodology can be found in Adedipe et al. (2026). These time-resolved micro-CT images can be used to validate pore-scale multimineral reactive transport models. The study provides key insights into mineral-specific reaction behaviours and flow-dependent dissolution patterns, further evaluating a detailed framework for improving predictive models of subsurface CO2 storage.
