The global scenario has seen the emergence of a new virus, SARS-CoV-2, responsible for worsening signs and symptoms, especially in individuals with comorbidities. According to data from the Ministry of Health, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has increased exponentially, completely changing the structure and functioning of the Unified Health System (SUS) as well as the behavior of the population, with the installation of social isolation, distancing and quarantine measures. Studies are being conducted by various research centers around the world with the aim of understanding viral dynamics, especially the pathogenesis and natural history of the disease to assess the behavior of the virus in different populations, but these findings are still preliminary and require further evaluation. The global impact caused by SARS CoV 2 has an emerging profile and requires a better understanding of its evolution.
