GHG Projections and Assessment of Policies and Measures in Austria

The report “GHG projections and assessment of policies and measures in Austria” presents information on projections, policies and measures according to reporting obligations as defined in Decision 280/2004/EC. It includes projections of the greenhouse gases (GHGs) CO2, CH4, N2O, HFC, PFC and SF6 for the years 2010, 2015, 2020, 2025 and 2030 and describes policies and measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by source. The results include two different scenarios: the scenario “with existing measures, WEM” takes into account climate change mitigation measures that were implemented under the Austrian Climate Strategies 2002 and 2007 before 2nd February 2010. The scenario “with additional measures, WAM” also includes planned policies and measures. The wem scenario without LULUCF shows an increase of greenhouse gases by 11.7 percent from 1990 to 2020 and by 16.2 percent from 1990 to 2030. The wam scenario shows an increase of 0.9 percent from 1990 up to 2020 and a decrease of 1.0 percent to 2030.
