Both subjects in 78 matched pairs were within normal reference values of nitric oxide metabolites (11.5–76.4 µmol/L for males and 10.1–65.6 µmol/L for females) and in 28 pairs both subjects exceeded the reference range.Covariates for adjustment include age, family history of hypertension, cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption, body mass index, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and fasting plasma glucose.
