LOW Virkahattu – Bicorne hat

Venäjän vallan aikana Suomen suuriruhtinaskunnassa siviilivirkamiehillä oli käytössä sotilaspuvun tyyppinen virkapuku. Virkapuvulla osoitettiin paikka virkamiesten arvojärjestyksessä. Postinhoitajan vuoden 1854 mallin virkapukuun kuului kaksikolkkahattu. Hattua on käyttänyt postinhoitaja Frithiof Öhberg vuosina 1885–1903 työssään Viaporissa, Kristiinankaupungissa, Tammisaaressa ja Porvoossa. When Finland was part of the Russian empire as a Grand Duchy, the civil servants had uniforms reminiscent of the Russian military uniform. The uniform showed the position of the official in the ranking system. The 1854 model of postmaster's uniform included a bicorne hat.
