The Forsa Bus is conducted by the Forsa polling institute. Based on representative samples, the program surveys about 500 people eligible to vote each day by telephone and asks about individual attitudes on various political and social issues. The Forsa Bus is currently available from 1991 onwards. The datasets include parts from omnibus surveys, while the focus of the collection is the survey of political preferences, both for candidates and parties, as well as voting behaviour in past elections.<br>Chancellor preference for Angela Merkel or Sigmar Gabriel; economic expectations for Germany; most competent party to solve the problems in the Federal Republic; voting behaviour in the last federal elections and state election; party preference at federal and state parliament level (Sunday question). Demography: sex; age (year of birth); marital status; living together with a partner; employment status; group membership if not employed; education; occupational status and characteristics; household size; number of children under 18 in household; net household income; religious denomination; union member in the household. Additionally coded: federal state; administrative district; district code; political municipality size class; survey area west/east; date of interview (year, month, day); day of the week of the interview; survey period (week); sample: sampling frame (landline, mobile); weighting factors.
