Five pollen and three macrofloral samples were examined from Clover Ruin
(AR-03-07-01-1036), a small seasonally occupied structure. The site is located
in the side yard of a ranger station on the Kaibab National Forest. Clover Ruin
appears to represent a hunting/gathering location of the "Cohonina" and was
occupied around AD 900-1000. Pollen and macrofloral analyses were undertaken to
identify vegetal elements of the subsistence base at this site. A single sample
was examined from the modern soil surface to provide a control for interpreting
the pollen record.
