The example data-set illustrates the raw data recorded when using dynamic microfluidic single-cell cultivation (dMSCC). Here, we stressed the industrially relevant bacterium Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC 13032 with repeated glucose starvation. After three hours of inital growth in CGXII medium with glucose, C. glutamicum was submitted to 1 h of glucose starvation conditions. After this, glucose was re-submitted for 1 h. This 1 h oscillation between glucose and non-glucose conditions repeated until the end of the experiment. Phase contrast images were taken every 10 min. This data set also includes a control measurement, in which C. glutamicum grew with a constant supply of glucose in CGXII medium in the same microfluidic structure.
