Data collected on adult sockeye salmon captured and radio tagged in the lower Copper River during 2019-2020.

These files contain data on individual, adult sockeye salmon captured in the lower Copper River during 2019-2021. Sampling during 2019 took place at Canyon Creek and Haley Creek (just downstream of Wood Canyon in the lower Copper River) during 6/20/2019 to 7/24/2029. Sampling during 2020 took place at Baird Canyon, downstream of Miles Lake, Haley Creek. and near the Chitina Airport during 5/30/2020 to 8/15/2020. Sampling during 2021 took place at Baird Canyon (6/2/2021 to 7/12/2021) and near the Chitina Airport during 7/30/2021 to 8/6/2021.The majority of fish were captured by research fishwheels operated and maintained by the Native Village of Eyak. Other methods included dip netting from the shore or skiff and upriver subsistence fish wheels. The files contain detailed data on morphometrics, sex, four readings taken at locations along the lateral line of the fish to estimate fat content (using a Distell microwave fat meter), and label ids for tissue samples collected (fin clips preserved in alcohol for genetic stock identification, and gill clips for measuring pathogens and gene expression, preserved in RNALater). The files also contain information on the radio tag frequency and code used for tracking fish in the river. Additional notes are provided that indicate if tagged fish were later recovered in the fishery and whether individual tags were redeployed.
