Shotgun metagenomics of alfalfa root-zone soil under a salinity gradient

This project generated shotgun metagenomic sequencing data from alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) root-zone soil collected from a pot experiment under three salinity treatments: CK (control), LS (low salinity), and MS (moderate salinity). Each treatment included three biological replicates (total n = 9). DNA was extracted from root-zone soil and sequenced using Illumina paired-end reads. The dataset supports analyses of microbial community composition and functional potential, including nitrogen cycling and KEGG pathway profiling.
