NRS-18596 | Leaving and Intermediate Certificates Examinations Results Book [Newcastle Boys' High School]

This series consists at present of a single volume, in which are recorded the names of, and results achieved by, candidates in the Intermediate Certificate and Leaving Certificate examinations from 1932 to 1936. The volume is arranged first chronologically, then, within each year, by class. Within each class, names and results are presented in alphabetical order. Newspaper cuttings reporting the High School’s results have been pasted into the volume on the appropriate pages. Some numerical tallies, in tabular format, appear inside the front cover and on the blank recto of the first leaf. These cover the years 1930-1937, which lends some support to the possibility that this series may at one time have included earlier and later volumes.The volume was originally printed as a General Information Register for the second decade of the 20th Century, but it has been re-ruled and provided with new headings in order to support its eventual function. It consists of a single signature (folded and stapled) between rigid card boards with a cloth spine. The volume displays minimal wear.
