Banking Without Governance: The Paradox of Financial Performance Under Institutional Collapse in Haiti

This repository contains a Jupyter Notebook (haiti_governance_banking.ipynb) that reproduces the full analysis for the study: "Governance, Remittances, and Financial Sector Dynamics in Haiti." The notebook integrates governance data from V-Dem, macroeconomic indicators from the World Bank, and manually curated bank asset data to estimate the effects of democratic quality, corruption, and external capital inflows on Haiti’s banking sector over time. The notebook includes all code, variable construction, regression modeling, and visualizations. It is designed to be fully reproducible, modular, and adaptable to similar governance-focused country case studies.
