The sunwatcher toad-headed agama Phrynocepahlus helioscopus and GBS raw sequence reads

In this study, we elucidate the geographic patterns of genetic variation and lineage diversification within a widespread lizard Phrynocepahlus helioscopus, and their associations with geography and past climate change, using mtDNA and genotype-by-sequencing (GBS) data. Our results revealed eight geographically correlated lineages, which were estimated to have coalesced ~4.47 million years ago. P. helioscopus originated in Fergana Valley before dispersing and diversifying across a wide area of the ACA.
