Compositional analysis was carried out using a JEOL 8530F Plus EPMA, equipped with 5 wavelength dispersive spectroscopy (WDS) detectors. Full WDS spectrometer analyses were acquired using 15 kV acceleration voltage, 300 nA current, and 3 µm probe diameter. Point analyses were carried out at 10 nA current and 1 µm probe diameter. For sulfides, PGE were acquired for 160 seconds on peak, whereas all other elements were acquired for 20 seconds on peak. For PGM, PGE were acquired for 90 seconds on peak, whereas other elements were acquired for 20 seconds on peak. Background acquisition times were half of peak counting durations. Base metal sulfides (BMS) were analysed using LA-ICP-MS. The analyses were conducted using an Agilent 7700 ICP-MS system with a 193 nm Excimer laser system. Repetition rate was 10 Hz and spot size was 13 µm. Isotopes measured were 107Ag, 27Al, 197Au, 209Bi, 43Ca, 44Ca, 59Co, 52Cr, 63Cu, 57Fe, 193Ir, 24Mg, 55Mn, 60Ni, 189Os, 105Pd, 206Pb, 207Pb, 208Pb, 195Pt, 103Rh, 101Ru, 34S, 121Sb, 77Se, 78Se, 82Se, 28Si, 125Te, 47Ti, 90Zr. Data processing was carried out with Iolite v4.8.6 (Paton et al., 2011), and procedures of detection limits by Longerich et al. (1996). This method samples a volume that penetrates to a depth of about 10 μm below the surface.
