For each participant we prepared by PCR a 263 bp amplicon containing the V3 region of the rRNA gene using coproDNA as template. A final library blend of 50 individuals was quantitatively prepared, and high-throughput semiconductor DNA sequencing was made using Ion Torrent PGM sequencer as previously described [Murugesan et al., 2015].
