Lacewing gut yeasts genome sequence

The goal of this project is to reveal what the 3 novel Metschnikowia yeasts from the gut of family Chrysopidae insects are doing in the gut and what characteristics they have. DNA was extracted and sequenced from 2n yeast cells because all three species are diploid main lineages and it was difficult to induce the germination of the ascospores. Long read sequencing by MinION (Oxford Nanopore) and paired-end sequencing by DNB-seq (MGI) were obtained because Metschnikowia sp. generally have many repeat regions.
