资源简介:
This file contains the parameters of the cold ion outflow at 1000 km altitude, during the intervals when the DMSP F15 satellite was traveling across the polar region in the years 2001-2007. Note that the DMSP has crossed the polar region many times during the years but only during the 1005 crossings data from both DMSP and Cluster for the same hemisphere are available. The cold ion outflow data are derived from particle tracing using cold ion measurements by Cluster 1 and 3 satellites in the magnetotail lobes.
There are 1005ⅹ2 matrices in the file, and matrices in the first and the second columns are for the data from Cluster 1 and Cluster 3, respectively. The matrices in the same row are for the same time interval. Each matrix has mⅹ9 elements, where m is the number of data points from Cluster 1 (or 3) during the 30-minute interval when DMSP crossed the polar region. Some matrices are empty because there are no cold ion data during the time interval.
The 9 parameters of each array are:
1) Time serial number recognizable by MATLAB
2) Cold ion outflow density [cm-3]
3) Cold ion outflow velocity [km s-1]
4) Cold ion outflow flux [cm-2 s-1]
5) -7) X, Y, and Z components of the location of the cold ion source region (in GSM system) [Re]
8) Solar zenith angle of the cold ion source region [Degree]
9) Geomagnetic field strength at the location of the cold ion source region of 1000 km altitude [nT]
